GORD highlights AI-backed innovations at QSTP AI Week
The Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD), headquartered at the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), actively participated in QSTP AI Week 2024. The week-long event, held from November 24 to 28, celebrated innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) within Qatar’s technology ecosystem.
GORD researchers from its RDI wing, GORD Institute, delivered a series of insightful presentations highlighting the organization’s ongoing projects and the potential of AI to accelerate sustainable solutions.
GORD’s first presentation at the event focused on the electro valorization of biomass, exploring the transformation of waste biomass into functional materials through electrochemical processes and predictive simulations. By reducing reliance on petrochemicals, this research contributes to a more sustainable future. Another presentation highlighted GORD’s work on developing novel cement formulations, predictive thermodynamic models, and AI-powered software to optimize the cement production process. GORD’s Advisory team also presented on AI-powered decarbonization, showcasing the organization’s incubated software solutions, including Arcadia and Energia Suites, which are designed to decarbonize the built environment through energy labeling.
Beyond the presentations, GORD maintained a booth at the event to further engage with visitors. The booth showcased several of the organization’s low-carbon solutions, including Synergia9n1 and Energia Suite. During the event, GORD members were also available to answer questions and discuss potential collaborations.
