GORD participates in ISEM Qatar, showcasing renewable and sustainability solutions
The Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD) actively participated in the International Solar Energy Meet (ISEM) Qatar, held in Doha from November 25-26, 2024. The event, designed to create networking and business opportunities, aimed to catalyze investments and partnerships in Qatar's burgeoning solar energy sector. At ISEM Qatar, GORD was represented by its Center of Excellence GORD Advisory and its affiliate Global Carbon Council (GCC).
Dr. Yousef Alhorr, Founding Chairman of GORD, served as an advisor to the event and delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. “Renewable energy is a cornerstone of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and the Qatar National Environment and Climate Change Strategy (QNE). By harnessing the power of the sun, we can diversify our energy mix, reduce our carbon footprint, and secure a sustainable future for generations to come. Our presence at ISEM Qatar reinforces our commitment to advancing these goals and driving innovation in renewable energy technologies,” said Dr. Alhorr.
During the event, GORD's senior representatives, Zaki Ahmed Mohammed, Director of Sustainability Advisory, and Kishor Rajhansa, COO of GCC, also took the stage to share insights on key industry topics that included leveraging solar energy to achieve net-zero certification for building projects and the role of voluntary and compliance carbon markets in accelerating the clean energy transition.
At the ISEM exhibition, GORD and GCC showcased their solutions designed to scale solar and renewable energy adoption. While GORD Advisory helps businesses harness the potential of renewables to design their decarbonization strategies, GCC offers a platform for organizations to offset their carbon emissions through credits derived from renewable energy projects.
