Ashghal builds 13 schools and two kindergartens (GSAS 3 Stars Rating) for new Academic Year

This was announced by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in a statement today.
Ashghal has now built 73 schools and 37 kindergartens inside and outside Doha since 2013. Out of the new schools, 12 have been handed over to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, while the process for the last one is going on, Ashghal said.
Both the nurseries are already handed over to relevant authorities. The total cost of the new buildings amounted to QR878m and each school have 25 classrooms, which can accommodate 650 students while each kindergarten has 12 classrooms, which can seat 240 pupils.
Being awarded the 3-star Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) certification in design and construction by the Gulf Organization for Research and Development, Ashghal pursued to comply with the green building specifications related in a way that would help reduce 25% energy, achieve lower water consumption, improve indoor environment, and reflect local architecture and heritage.
GSAS supports the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030 to promote sustainability standards in the urban environment in the country.
