Al Thumama Stadium is targeting GSAS (Global Sustainability Assessment System) 4-Star certification for both design and construction with a particular focus on water and energy efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining architectural and cultural heritage.

The prototype stadium ‘Showcase’ at Al Thumama Stadium precinct will be used by GORD until 2022 to demonstrate using the power of the sun for stadium cooling, through their new hybrid super-efficient technology.
