1st GSAS-CGP Workshop in LEBANON

GORD’s GSAS (Global Sustainability Assessment System) being the first performance-based system in the MENA region, developed for rating the green buildings and infrastructures, has been widely recognized by local and regional leading firms. Dar Al-Handasah, which is based in Lebanon has an extensive presence across its 40 offices in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. In Qatar, Dar has been working on mega projects such as the Khalifa Stadium and Al-Khor Stadium, Sports Museum, Primary Healthcare Centers and other buildings in the Pearl development.

From August 8th to 10th 2017, GORD conducted a 3-day GSAS-CGP training and workshop at Dar Al-Handasah (Shair & Partners) building on Verdun Street in Beirut, Lebanon. The training conducted  was attended by Dar employees working in different capacities on projects based in Qatar.

GSAS draws upon best practices adopted from 40 different rating systems known regionally and internationally. The systematic assessment method is applied seamlessly from the macro to micro scales encompassing urban design, infrastructure and buildings levels. The 3 day GSAS-CGP workshop covers an overview of various GSAS procedures, tools, applications and assessment requirements, and highlighted the unique advantages of the system that address local challenges and requirements. Following the workshop, the participants have to clear an online exam to become a GSAS Certified Green Professional.
