His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, Qatar's Minister of Environment and Climate Change, visited the headquarters of the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD) located in Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) on Sunday, June 25. He was accompanied by senior dignitaries representing the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, as well as QSTP.

The visit commenced with an informative tour of the office, guided by Dr. Yousef Alhorr, Founding Chairman of GORD. Dr. Alhorr elaborated on various exhibits that highlighted GORD's successful projects, providing an overview of its achievements.

Following the tour, a high-level meeting took place, during which the delegation received in-depth information on GORD's key projects from its five centers of excellence. Additionally, they were briefed on GORD's two spinouts – the Global Carbon Council (GCC) and the Global Accreditation Bureau (GAB).
Speaking with the minister, Dr. Yousef Alhorr emphasized GORD's research, development and innovation (RDI) initiatives. He also shed light on the significant role played by GCC in supporting the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement’s Article 6.2.
Admiring the work accomplished by GORD in sustainability domain, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani concluded the meeting by expressing his intention to engage in detailed discussions with GORD’s leadership. The purpose of these discussions will be to explore potential joint sustainability initiatives and collaborate on endeavors that address the pressing challenges of environmental conservation and climate change.
