GORD has concluded an MOU with the Chartered Institution for Building Service Engineers
GORD has concluded lately a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chartered Institution for Building Service Engineers (CIBSE). The MOU was signed in the presence of GORD Founder and Chairman, Dr. Yousef Al Horr and CIBSE President Mr. Andy Ford during the latter’s recent visit to GORD headquarters in Qatar Science and Technology Park.
As per the MOU, GORD and CIBSE will conduct a series of research studies in the Middle East and develop training programs in order to enhance human capitals.
CIBSE & GORD agreed on common objective such as:
- Training courses (CPD & other courses)
- Joint publications
- Research (hot climate standards, etc.)
- Knowledge dissemination
On the occasion, GORD chairman Dr. Yousef Al Horr said, “GORD & CIBSE share a common objective which is knowledge dissemination for every building service professional, whether they are new to the industry or senior players.
Andy Ford, president-elect of the globally acclaimed Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), said there was a need to make buildings under construction in the region, in particular the high rises, eco-friendly and energy-efficient.
The Qatari CIBSE Regional Group (CIBSE chapter) formed by Qatari CIBSE Members meet frequently in Doha to discuss Building Services engineering, exchange views on current projects and technical issues, and review new trends and technologies in the industry.
GORD sponsored the seminar planned by CIBSE chapter to coincide with the visit of CIBSE president Andy Ford. During the seminar, an overview about Qatar Standard Assessment System (QSAS) was presented to the CIBSE Chapter while Mr. Andy Gallacher of Fagerhult Lighting shared their knowledge & experience Low carbon lighting being synonymous with energy efficient lighting.
The seminar was held 24th October 2011 at 6:00pm at the QATAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARK (QSTP) AUDITORIUM.
