GORD Academy organizes second AEE CEM Workshop
GORD Academy has concluded 2022’s final Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) workshop organized in collaboration with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Qatar Chapter. The four-day virtual course, held from October 16 to 19, was designed to equip candidates with a thorough understanding of principles, practices and technologies needed to enhance energy performance of buildings. The course is also mandatory for professionals aspiring to obtain AEE’s globally recognized CEM® accreditation.
AEE’s CEM accreditation is among the most popular professional certifications in the field of energy management. Key topics covered in the training course includes codes and standards, energy accounting and economics, energy audits and instrumentation, electrical power systems and motors, HVAC systems, industrial systems, building envelope, CHP systems and renewable energy, fuel supply and pricing, building automation and control systems, thermal energy storage systems, lighting systems, boiler and steam systems, maintenance and commissioning, energy savings, and performance contracting and measurement and verification.
The CEM workshop was conducted following AEE’s selection of GORD to lead the official AEE Qatar Chapter. The recent course is the second sessions in a series of technical trainings planned to be offered to the Qatar market, which in the future will benefit from trainings in areas related to energy engineering, energy management, energy efficiency and conservation, energy auditing, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, techno-economics and lifecycle costing of energy systems etc.
