GORD Academy, the knowledge dissemination arm of the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD), recently concluded a four-day training workshop under the Association of Energy Engineers’ (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Training Program.

The workshop was attended by 28 professionals representing leading government and private sector organizations from Qatar, the Gulf region, and beyond. Notable participants included Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar Foundation, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Siemens, Muscat City Desalination from Oman, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and Alkhorayef Industries  from Saudi Arabia.

The CEM Training Program is internationally recognized as one of the most respected credentials in energy management. Designed for professionals in energy management, sustainability, and engineering, the program equips participants with advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and technologies needed to optimize energy performance in buildings.

Following the training, participants will sit for a proctored exam, with successful candidates earning the prestigious Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation from AEE.

GORD conducted this workshop in its capacity as the entity leading the AEE Qatar Chapter, reaffirming its role in advancing capacity building and professional development in energy management across the region.

In addition to the training, GORD also showcased its Synergia9n1, an ultra-efficient fresh air handling unit. Participants were given a live demonstration of the commercial model, along with a presentation on its Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) unit, highlighting its advanced capabilities for managing energy performance.
