GORD to continue climate leadership at COP29
The Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) is once again set to make a significant impact at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22, 2024.
GORD’s Centers of Excellence, prominently GORD Advisory and Climate Action Center of Excellence (CACE) and its affiliate Global Carbon Council (GCC), will be represented at the conference. The organization’s pavilion, located at booth number F03 in the Blue Zone, will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, engagement, and collaboration aimed at addressing the pressing challenges of climate change.
“We are thrilled to be returning to COP29 and to continue our work with the global community to build a more sustainable future,” said Dr. Yousef Alhorr, Founding Chairman of GORD. “Our pavilion will be a hub for innovative solutions and thought leadership, and we look forward to connecting with policymakers, businesses, and civil society organizations to advance our shared goals.”
GORD’s participation in COP29 is part of its broader mission to promote sustainable development and create a more resilient future for all. As part of its commitment to catalyzing meaningful climate action, GORD is offering its pavilion at COP29 as a platform for organizations participating in the Blue Zone with secured badges to host their own side events, free of charge. This unique opportunity aims to foster dialogue, share innovative solutions, and amplify diverse perspectives on climate issues.
To this end, GORD is currently accepting expressions of interest until November 7 from leading organizations looking to benefit from GORD’s pavilion at COP29.
