GORD organized a workshop on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

In association with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD), the authority for knowledge on sustainability in the MENA region has organized a training workshop on “Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy” in collaboration with GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) & Ministry of Environment (MOE). The workshop was held on 27th & 28th of April 2015 at The Qurm, Grand Hyatt Hotel, and followed by site visits to GORD premises in QSTP, and Hamad Bin Al-Attiyah Sports Arena (GSAS 4-Stars) on April 29th, 2015.

The workshop was attended by more than 20 professionals and experts from various disciplines, representing different GCC government agencies from Standards and Consumer Protection – Bahrain, Directorate General for Standards and Specifications – Oman, Ministry of Environment/ Public Works Authority – Qatar, GSO/ KACARE/ KAU/ Standardization, Metrology and Quality Organization – Saudi Arabia, Institute for Scientific Research/ Public Authority for Industry – Kuwait.

The workshop covered a wide range of topics including but not limited to energy standards, energy efficiency, energy systems and renewable energy, which provides the participants with basic knowledge and tools on energy use in the built environment. The workshop has combined theoretical training and site visit supported with hands-on activities focusing on using GSAS tools & frameworks in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
