GORD delivers high-impact workshop at Rowad Conference 2025
The Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) contributed sustainability expertise at Rowad Conference 2025, Qatar’s national entrepreneurship platform and a flagship Global Entrepreneurship Week event. Held under the theme “Beyond Boundaries: Scaling, Sustaining, and Succeeding,” this year’s edition brought together startups, SMEs, and ecosystem leaders through workshops, advisory sessions, B2B meetings and the Young Entrepreneur Club Media Forum. Adding to GORD’s active engagement, the organization’s Founding Chairman, Dr. Yousef Alhorr, attended the conference and met with the senior leadership of Qatar Development Bank (QDB), the event’s organizers, reinforcing the entities’ ongoing collaboration in advancing Qatar’s entrepreneurship and sustainability landscape.
As part of its contribution to the national entrepreneurship agenda, GORD’s consulting arm, GORD Advisory, delivered a high-impact workshop titled “Sustainability as a Business Imperative: Building Resilient and Competitive SMEs.” At the workshop, GORD Advisory highlighted how SMEs can integrate sustainability into their business models by embedding environmental and social considerations into daily operations and long-term planning. It emphasized the business case for sustainability, noting opportunities for cost savings through energy and resource efficiency, stronger risk management, and enhanced brand credibility. The session also outlined regulatory and market drivers, including rising demand for sustainable products and tightening ESG requirements across supply chains and financing. Participants were introduced to practical tools and frameworks for measuring carbon footprints, improving operational performance, and reporting sustainability progress.
Beyond the workshop, GORD showcased a suite of innovative solutions at the Rowad exhibition, attracting significant attention from business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs. The exhibition featured GORD’s latest advancements, including the new Comlada Air Quality Monitoring Suite, the organization’s tech-powered ESG digital platform, and solutions supporting SMEs in emissions management and CBAM readiness. These were presented alongside other pioneering technologies such as Synergia 9n1 and GORD 3D additive manufacturing solutions.
