GORD concludes Accredited Energy Practitioner Workshop

The Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) has successfully concluded its latest Accredited Energy Practitioner (AEP) workshop. The intensive training program, delivered by GORD’s energy experts, saw the participation of 24 professionals keen on enhancing their expertise in energy auditing for existing buildings.
This workshop is a key component of GORD’s ongoing capacity building, knowledge dissemination, and outreach program, which includes AEP certification launched in collaboration with Kahramaa/Tarsheed. The AEP initiative aims to equip professionals with the knowledge and qualification to effectively conduct energy audits during the operational phase of buildings, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable built environment.
During the two-day workshop, participants delved into a comprehensive curriculum, starting with fundamental concepts and progressing to in-depth discussions on energy audit processes. Key topics covered included energy audits and sustainability rating, energy audit process, energy saving opportunities (ESOs), energy reporting/resources and pathway to decarbonization.
The AEP certification, valid for three years, not only elevates the professional standing of individuals but also formally authorizes them to conduct energy audits. GORD Academy’s AEP program is specifically designed to provide the insights and skills required to drive significant improvements in energy optimization and foster career advancement for those committed to the decarbonization of the built environment.
Following the completion of this intensive training, candidates will undertake the examination. Upon successfully passing the examination, they will earn the prestigious AEP certification.
