Green Events Tool (GET) – a joint initiative of GORD with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) – was recently featured in the April issue of Qatar Happening Magazine. The article titled “Green Events Tool (GET): A Catalyst for Sustainable Large-Scale Events" discusses the considerable environmental impact of large-scale events, particularly highlighting their carbon emissions which pose significant sustainability challenges globally and more so in the MENA region. GET is an innovative online platform designed to assess and mitigate the environmental impact of events. Since its launch in 2021, GET has been utilized in over 55 countries to help calculate and manage the carbon footprint of approximately 250 events worldwide, engaging more than 5 million participants.
