GORD Chairs the VRF 2017 Conference & Expo in Riyadh, KSA

The VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) 2017 Summit was held earlier this month at Riyadh Palace Hotel, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in association with GSO (GCC Standardization Organization) and GORD (Gulf Organisation for Research and Development).

Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) is a system used for the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (in both residential and commercial buildings). GORD's presentation topic at the summit was: “QCOOL – an innovative technology: A Super Efficient HVAC System”. QCOOL is an innovative smart patented air conditioning system by Gulf Organisation For Research & Development (GORD) that is locally manufactured, licensed to Sharjah Kuwait Manufacturing (SKM). It is a fully integrated and controlled ventilating and air conditioning system that can be fully driven by waste heat and renewables; and provides superefficient, cost-effective, and sustainable fresh air cooling for open or enclosed spaces in moderate, hot or humid climates. The system utilizes recycled water and absorbent materials which is extracted from rejected desalination brine. During the tested period, the system has shown up to 50% reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional systems. QCOOL is an energy efficient cooling system that can shrink clients’ carbon footprints in a cost effective manner.

The event attracted experts in the refrigerant and air conditioning industry from the entire Middle East region to interact and learn about energy efficient VRF systems. Among the speakers were leading variable refrigerant flow experts, key decision-makers from the government and other bodies as well as some leading brands, manufacturers and technology providers.

The Summit was much appreciated by all attendees as it provided information regarding the latest trends, news and updates from the air conditioning industry. From basics such as what is a VRF system to reasons as to why one should invest in this kind of technology.
