GORD hosted Italian delegation for mutual cooperation on green sustainability

GORD has recently hosted a high profile Italian delegation to discuss mutual cooperation in terms of research and knowledge exchange in the field of green building and sustainability. 

The Italian delegation which was welcomed by GORD Chairman, Dr. Yousef Al Horr included the President of Chamber of Commerce of Pesario & Urbino, Mr. Alberto Drudi and other experts from the Chamber’s International Relationship Management, Small and Medium Enterprises and Special Agency for International Activities.   The province of Pesario & Urbino has embraced leading green initiatives both on the government and community level. Therefore, the visiting delegation expressed its keenness to cooperate closely with GORD in order to boost the green and environment-friendly practices in Qatar.  

Speaking of the purpose behind the visit, Mr. Alberto Drudi said: “We are very excited to exchange expertise with a visionary organization like GORD. We were very much impressed by the Qatar Sustainability Assessment System which will definitely boost the green building in this rising country’’.“Our main objective is to expose our sustainable solution providers and capacities and at the same time learn from the local experience’’, said Drudi. 

Dr. Yousef Al Horr commented: “We are honored by the Italian delegation visit & glad that there is global interest in GORD initiatives such as QSAS & Research programs. Qatar is a country demarcated by outstanding growth and we were able to create sustainable processes that will help enhance our nation's development. Hosting the delegation of Presario and Urbino allowed us to talk about leading industry practices, which provide practical knowledge and help shape global innovative standards’’. 

GORD was established with a key objective to promote healthy, energy and resource efficient, and environmentally responsible building practices in Qatar and the entire GCC region.Through its slogan ‘creating green legacy’, GORD strives to be one of the driving forces behind positioning Qatar as the leader in the field of sustainable development, design and construction both on the regional and international level.
