As part of our commitment to the welfare of Qatar and the responsibility to support the real estate industry and professionals, GORD provides educational opportunities for professionals through teaching & research, training & workshops, and publications, building case studies, and applications of green technologies and strategies.

GORD, Qatar's leading research, consultancy and training institute, has concluded 3 QSAS - CERTIFIED GREEN PROFESSIONAL® (QSAS - CGP) Workshops in Doha during November & December 2011. GORD demonstrates its commitment and ability to lead Qatar’s sustainable real estate sector by offering such workshops to senior executives, consultants and engineers regionally & internationally.

QSAS - CGP Workshop aims to validate your knowledge, skills and provide you with a competitive edge experience developed and delivered in association with globally recognized consultants, researchers and professors. It also allows you to sit for the Professional Accreditation Exam and become QSAS - CERTIFIED GREEN PROFESSIONAL®.

QSAS – CGP workshop provides candidates with:

  1. The latest knowledge and understanding of green building practices and principles, and how they are applied in Qatar & the region
  2. Training for the participants to become QSAS - CERTIFIED GREEN PROFESSIONAL®. This will include an introduction to the certification procedures, tools, and the process of successfully guiding consultants through QSAS application and assessment requirements.
  3. The necessary educational materials that support them during their practice.

Dr. Yousuf Mohammed Al-Horr, Founder and Chairman of Gulf Organization for Research and Development, said: “GORD’s training workshop offers selected candidates the opportunity to attend a Professional Accreditation Exam to be accredited as an official QSAS – CERTIFIED GREEN PROFESSIONAL®,”

“The workshop serves as an excellent tool to achieve our goal of empowering construction practitioners and professionals by facilitating the transfer of expertise, knowledge and information on sustainability. Moreover, we are very pleased with the enthusiasm of construction firms from different countries to participate in the workshop, which underlines the growing interest in the Qatar Sustainability Assessment System as a new international benchmark for green building development. We will continue to organise similar workshops to accommodate more construction firms and practitioners worldwide who are eager to become QSAS-Certified Green Professionals.” added Dr Al Horr.

The workshop gathered presidents, CEOs, General Managers, Project Managers, Technical Managers, etc... representing various construction firms from Qatar, UAE, UK, Singapore and Kuwait, as well as engineering consultants, design managers, architects, interior design engineers, site engineers, and civil, mechanical and electrical engineers. Representatives from Qatar (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Municipality & Urban Planning, Building Affairs – Public Work Authority, AWQAF, Qatar Olympic Committee, Qatar Petroleum (QP), Arab Engineering Bureau, QDVC, Energy City Qatar, Hochtief Solutions Middle East, Qatar Green Leaders, , Marbu Contracting - Qatar, Shaker Consulting Group, Parsons/ Aecom LRT JV, USA (Leed International llc), United Kingdom (BG2 Global Solutions, ARUP, Hoare Lea Middle East), , Singapore (Surbana Technologies Pte), etc... likewise attended the workshop.
