GORD hosted a Jordan delegation at their new premises at QSTP. The meeting was attended by GORD’s Founder & Chairman Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al Horr and JEA’s President – Eng. Abdullah Obeidat accompanied by Head of Architectural Division at JEA – Eng. Kamal Habash & Assistant Secretary General – Eng Moh’d Abu Afifeh.

GORD and JEA are exploring collaboration opportunities through finding a symbiosis between Qatar Sustainability assessment system (QSAS) and Jordan green building practices.

This meeting comes few months after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between both parties to cooperate and promote sustainability on a large scale through effective initiatives aiming at reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, encouraging the use of environmentally safe materials, and supporting green building projects.

Eng. Abdulla Obaidat said after his visit: “We are very delighted to meet once again with Founder & Chairman of GORD Dr Yousef Al Horr. We do hope that we will enhance our partnership with the organization. We are aiming to develop an effective cooperation on the scientific and professional level by adopting QSAS which proved to be a leading initiative in the green building area’’.

Dr Al Horr said that his organisation has always been committed in disseminating knowledge in the field of sustainable construction and promoting innovation and development. This, he said, lies within the framework of the Organisation’s vision of enhancing the role of QSAS as a basic criterion for assessing sustainability in the urban environment and as one of the most comprehensive systems of its kind at the global level.

GORD has always ensured to establish strong partnership with leading institutions around the globe to enhance environment-friendly practices.

“We will make sure to provide any kind of assistance for the JEA in order to improve the design and building regulations in Jordan. In return we are open to get their expertise in the field’’, concluded GORD Chairman.
