The intent of GSAS Hotels is to assess and rate the design of hotels. The criteria and measurements focus on providing healthy and sustainable hotels for guests and workers and range from a measurement of energy consumption to the thermal comfort provided to guestrooms.
Included for assessment under GSAS Hotels are properties of varying scales from boutique hotels to large scale resorts. Within in hotel building types are spaces that serve various functions such as guestrooms, lobbies, banquet halls, offices, conference rooms, dining areas and kitchens, fitness centers, retail spaces and ancillary areas.
